Initial Situation:

The client approached N-VisionIT Interactive with a web business concept, thorough documentation pertaining to what they required and asked us to develop the custom application that would realise his concept. He required web developers to implement his algorithms in order to realise his business model.

Our Role:

Provide our technical expertise and experience to build a Facebook application from the ground up based on documentation provided by the client, including some back and forth communication from our sales team.

N-VisionIT Interactive Solutions:

Based on our analysis of the clients business needs, we designed an appropriate data model and developed the web-database. Algorithms provided by the client were implemented in order to calculate the value of gifts.

Scheduled tasks were established to determine when users had not used the application in a while, and depending on their period of inactivity send them one of 3 messages and incentive to use the application again.

Leveraging our knowledge and experience with Facebook application development we were able to publish new gifts received to recipients news feeds and notifications.

EBeenz is meant to be a currency to purchase gifts as well so PayPal was necessary to embed into the application within Facebook.

Results:

The client received a Facebook application on time and has been thoroughly pleased with the outcome ever since. The client has also come back for additional enhancements to the application since the initial launch.

Project Description:

An application built within Facebook which allows for users to send gifts to their friends. Gifts can either be free or have a value associated to them, which are the actual 'EBeenz'.

Users who require additional EBeenz to spend on gifts can obtain them through several different methods: On a users birthday, the system will automatically send the user additional EBeenz and a 'Happy Birthday' message; EBeenz can be purchased through the integrated PayPal module, which makes use of a complex algorithm to convert dollars to EBeenz while applying bonus EBeenz based on the amount of actual money the user is planning on spending. The calculation is all done dynamically; The final way to earn EBeenz is to visit some of the site's sponsors.

We have built a sliding sponsor offer display to allow the user to seamlessly go from one offer to the next. The clients goal is to start with the EBeenz application, then integrate other new applications with the currency system we have created.

Application users have steadily increased since being launched in late December.
